Noen måneder senere mottok vi følgende bilder og meldingskorrespondanse fra Stavanger museum, som avdekker intet mindre enn en norgesrekord av norskmerket polarsisik, med en kontroll hele 1045 km fra merkestedet. Og det på alle bombeøyers mor; Fair Isle!!

Emne: Arctic Redpoll ring
Hi there,
We currently have an Arctic Redpoll (Acanthis hornemanni) visiting us on Fair Isle, Shetland, UK, which has a Norweigan ring. I have managed to get photos of most, or possibly all of the sequence, but I would like to confirm with you which possibility it is.
As you can see from the photos attached, the sequence is either HH4423, or HH44423, but I am not certain how many digits the ring sequence should have.
Please could you let me know which it should be, and whether this fits an Arctic Redpoll on your ringing scheme? I can then report it through the BTO so that we have the recovery logged too.

What a great record! We do indeed have a Arctic Redpoll on HH44423.
The bird bird actually ringed as a Greenland/Hornemann’s Arctic Redpoll, 1 cy male, at Selvær in Nordland (Northern parts of Norway) 30.09.2021.
Do you have any pictures of the full bird that possibly could confirm the A.h.h subspecies? And, if you have a nice portait picture of the bird we would appreciate if we could use this in our coming ringing report for 2022, if possible…(?) The photo will of course be credited in the report.
